Our Firefighters would like to give a Great Big THANK YOU to everyone that came out to support our pork chop fundraiser this past weekend at the Apple Dumpling festival! Your support means everything to our members! Without your support it would not have been a success! Also just a special Thank you to all the firefighters from other departments that made a special trip to come support us, we truly appreciate each and everyone! We are blessed to be part of a great community that we proudly serve!🧑‍🚒🔥🚒

Do these photos bring back memories? Atwood Fire Protection Dist. would like to invite all past members to join our current members at this year's Apple Dumpling Parade Sat August 22. The parade is scheduled for 2pm, please meet at the fire house around 1:15pm if you're a previous member and would like to ride along! We would consider it an honor to have previous members spend the afternoon with us. Please message our page or let one of our members know if you plan to ride along!

It's almost pork chop time! Next week Friday and Saturday the volunteers with Atwood Fire Protection Dist. will again be selling pork chops at the Apple Dumpling festival! We appreciate all the community support in the past and want to say Thank you! Without your support our fundraiser would not be possible!

Our serving location will be at the corner of North Main and West Central Street! We again plan to offer pork chop sandwiches and or a pork chop on a stick! Drinks, chips and a cookie will also be available. Just FYI our pork chops are fresh, never frozen and grilled to perfection by our firemen! Thank you to Dutch Valley Meats Inc for supplying the pork chops! Stop by and see us! Our Firefighters look forward to serving you! Cash, check or card accepted.

🚒🔥Just a little recap of the past month at Atwood Fire Protection Dist. 🔥🚒

We are happy to announce that firefighter Wendall Hostetler has completed his one year probationary period. On completion Wendall was given the opportunity to choose his new badge number and was presented with a new helmet and shield with his new fire number on it! Wendall recently completed 40 hrs of grain bin rescue training plus many other hours of fire and rescue training. We appreciate his dedication to our department!

Our training topic for July was Fire behavior and Ventilation!!🔥🔥🔥

First training of the month our Firefighters burned a doll house! This was done to gain more knowledge and to have a better understanding of fire behavior, flow paths and ventilation!

Second training of the month our focus was on ventilation! Firefighters conducted a series of different hands on evolutions to practice all steps of ventilation! Firefighters utilized our roof prop to practice cutting different types of ventilation holes. This was done with the different types of power tools and hand tools we carry on our trucks. Firefighters also refreshed themselves on ladder operations! Practiced carrying, raising and lowering all the different types of ladders we utilize in the fire service.

July was a busy month for our members. Many hours were given to training and running EMS and Fire calls! We are Thankful for all our dedicated members and appreciate all the time and effort they continually put into Atwood Fire Protection Dist!🧑‍🚒🔥🚒

Atwood Fire Protection Dist. was requested for service at approx 16:05 this afternoon for a rural barn-crib fire. Upon arrival the structure was fully involved with fire! We would like to say Thank you to our mutual aid partners for sending tankers and manpower to assist at this incident.

Atwood Fire Protection Dist. members had the privilege to train on dry hydrants this evening! We would like to Thank Arthur Fire and Ambulance for the invite to train with them. We appreciate their senior members teaching our members all about dry hydrants. Our members gained valuable information to better serve the communities around us!🚒🧑‍🚒
