Rawlins County Conservation District is a political subdivision of state government and the primary local unit of government responsible for the conservation of soil, water and related natural resources within Rawlins County.

FY2027 Cost Share Signup is open through June 10th

Some of the projects that have been funded through our water resource program are: Terraces, Windbreaks, Grassed Waterways, Livestock Ponds (Pit), Livestock wells, and Solar Pumping plants.

Some of the projects that have been funded through our Non-Point Source program are: Septic systems and abandoned water well plugging.

Before a landowner can be approved or construction can begin, they will need to have:
A conservation plan developed and signed
Their application MUST be approved, signed, and returned to our office.

If you wish to sign up for any of these funds you can stop by the RCCD office @ 1001 Sherman Street (USDA Bldg) or email Lisa @ [email protected] or call 785-626-8979

Funding is provided by the Division of Conservation, Kansas Department of Agriculture, through appropriation from the Kansas Water Plan Fund.

Enrollment for the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) is open! Our working lands conservation program allows participants to conserve grasslands while continuing most grazing and haying practices. Submit your offer by May 29, 2026.
