Last Friday, our marching band, cheerleaders, and football players traded their traditional maroon for purple in support of a special member of the War Eagle family, Mrs. Pam Inman, affectionately known as “Nan,” who is currently battling cancer.

Nan has been a faithful supporter of our band and our students, and this was one small way our War Eagle family could come together to remind her that she is not fighting alone. We’re with you, Nan!

A special thank you to Nan’s granddaughter, Austyn Inman, a member of our Student Media Intern Team, for capturing and providing the photos from Friday night.

WCP Students Mix Movement, Math, and Teamwork with “Oodles of Noodles”

WCP students recently combined physical education with math skills during a fun cross-curricular activity called “Oodles of Noodles.” This high-energy relay challenged teams to race, collect, and carefully balance growing piles of pool noodles. The activity was more than just a race—it encouraged students to think strategically while practicing math skills. Noodles of different lengths can be assigned different point values, requiring students to make decisions about which noodles would help their team earn the most points. Students worked together, stayed active, and had plenty of fun while learning. At WCP, learning truly can happen anywhere—even with oodles of noodles!

🏃‍♂️ Cross Country is back at West Carroll!

Senior Brody Baker made War Eagle history this week, becoming the first West Carroll runner to compete in a cross-country race in nearly five years!

Brody’s connection to the sport goes back to junior high, when he practiced alongside the high school cross-country team. Now, in his senior year, he’s helping bring that tradition back to West Carroll with his coach, Jason Martin.

Brody crossed the finish line in 27:10, officially kicking off a new chapter for War Eagle Cross Country. 🩶

And he won’t be running alone for long! Several more team members are working to earn their jerseys and are expected to join Brody for the team’s next race on September 10.

Congratulations, Brody! We’re proud to see you leading the way and bringing Cross Country back to West Carroll! 🦅🏃‍♂️

We are so proud of these students!
This brings our total to 103 students who have accomplished this goal!

Choices Matter is coming to West Carroll! On September 16, WCJSHS students will participate in the Choices Matter Program, presented in partnership with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.

Students will hear from guest speaker Brittany Leedham, who was just 17 years old when she learned firsthand how our choices, and the choices of those around us, can have a lasting impact on the lives of others. Now an adult, Brittany travels to share her personal story of tragedy, resilience, and perseverance in hopes of helping young people make choices that can prevent similar tragedies.

We are grateful for the opportunity to bring a powerful, real-world message to our students and encourage them to think about something that truly matters: the choices we make today can impact our lives and the lives of others for years to come.

Last week, our 8th grade students traveled to Jackson to participate in the Pathways2Possibilities Career Expo! Students had the opportunity to explore a variety of career fields through hands-on exhibits and activities, giving them a closer look at the skills, careers, and opportunities available to them after high school.

These opportunities help students begin connecting their interests and strengths to possible career paths. We’re excited to see which possibilities spark their interest and where their exploration takes them next!
