Rawlins County EMS Rawlins County EMS is dedicated to serving the residents of Rawlins County. Rawlins County EMS covers 1,000 square miles and a population of 2,500.

Rawlins County Emergency Medical Services is a progressive EMS service that strives to offer the best care possible for the citizens of Rawlins County. There are two stations located in Atwood and McDonald. These two stations cover the whole county including the areas of Ludell, Achilles, Blakeman, Beardsley and Herndon. We are composed of dedicated Full Time, Part Time, and Volunteer staff that i

s committed to keeping the citizens of Rawlins County safe. Each station is available for 911 calls, secondary or overfill calls are covered by dedicated full time/part time and volunteers. The Atwood station has a Full Time crew on 24/7 ready for 911 calls. Atwood has two ambulances that are stocked for advanced life care, as well as the Durango a command unit. This crew is responsible for the daily duties at the station. This includes, but not limited to; stocking, checking maintenance of the ambulances, checking equipment, cleaning and disinfecting, organizing, making sure the station is clean, and other daily duties. The McDonald station is composed of volunteers that respond to the station when the call is received. McDonald has two ambulances that are stocked for basic life support. RCEMS is available for ALS and BLS transfers when a crew can be put together. Please call the Atwood station at 785-626-8052 or our dispatch center at 785-626-3208 where they will get a hold of an on call crew member. RCEMS does provide CPR classes in partnership with Rawlins County Public Health Department for healthcare providers as well as community members. One of the local churches brought breakfast casseroles to us at EMS. The staff member is not sure which group brought them.

*****NOTICE *****

Starting in February, the testing of the storm sirens in McDonald, Atwood, and Herndon will no longer take place on Saturdays at 3 pm.

Storm sirens will be tested the FIRST Monday of the month at 9 am and will run for three minutes.
