Michael Nugent Safety Award:
This award symbolizes someone who is all about member safety and making sure everyone comes home safe from training and fire calls.
This member may not be on the fireground all the time like he used to be but is always sharing experiences through his career that he’s encountered. Always sharing articles, videos of today’s dangers we face on the fire ground. He is always making sure the officers are putting the members in the best situation possible to be safe, by always giving out ideas or critiquing drills or fire scene operations. This member has attended several DECON classes over the last year to gain knowledge to pass along to the membership. He has put us in a good direction with starting up our DECON process and we will continue to build on it. We appreciate the knowledge he gives us and enjoy his presentations on how to stay safe on the fire ground and on training drills.
The 2025 Michael Nugent Safety Award goes to Louis Garso.
The award is accepted by Charlene Garso on behalf of Louis Garso Firefighter.
