Au Sable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service provides emergency medical services (EMS) to the towns of Jay and Blackbrook, New York. Currently we are implementing extra EMS coverage to stand by in the station due to the floods. Please help us help you; do not drive through flooded roads. Additionally, as it’s dark out as of now, it’s especially important to make your driveways as brightly lit as possible if you do have to call emergency services. It’s difficult to see hazards caused by heavy rain in the dark such as slippery stairs and deep puddles; this can be dangerous for both crew members and patients.

We would like to introduce you to our newest member "Lucas"!!🚑

Last night volunteers and staff received training on our new Lucas devices(yes, 2!)that were acquired through a grant from Essex County. With limited personnel, these devices will be an invaluable piece of equipment to our department. They provide 45 minutes of compressions on 1 battery charge and can be plugged in to run indefinitely. This frees up a person from having to do chest compressions and allows them to do one of the many other tasks that need to be performed during a cardiac arrest. After our training was completed we went to the Ausable Forks Fire Department and provided training to the firefighters as they are dispatched to cardiac arrests along with us. We will be providing this training to the Jay and Upper Jay Fire Departments in the near future. To purchase these devices would be $20,000 each. We would like to thank Essex County for these devices!
