Registered Voters Please Note: Not everyone in Au Train Township is Eligible to Vote. Only those voters in the Munising Public School Tax District.

Forest Lake Dam Update (Thursday, April 23rd).

Supervisor Balmes attended a meeting today (regarding the Au Train River mouth) and the Army Corp of Engineers had a representative there. After discussing the Dam, that representative contacted Emergency Management for the State and Dam Safety. (The War Room). They indicated they had engineers on site today and are continuing to monitor the dam and flow. They feel the dam is currently safe. They will keep in touch with the Township with any updates as necessary.

Edited to Add: Monday and Tuesday 3/16 and 3/17) trash pickup, for obvious reasons, CANCELLED. Excess garbage will be collected next week. They will not be able to add a makeup day this week.

Au Train Township Treasurer, Kristy Cota will have office hours at the AuTrain Township Hall on Monday, March 2nd from 9:00am to 5:00pm for the last day of 2025 property tax collection.

Any property taxes not collected by 5:00pm on Monday, March 2nd must be paid to the Alger County Treasurer. You will need to contact them for the total amount due that will include interest and penalties. They can be reached at 906-387-4535

EXPIRED POST! If you live along State Hwy M28 and are scheduled for garbage pickup today (Wednesday) and are missed, GFL will pick it up tomorrow. If the trucks can't see (which means they can't be seen) it isn't safe for them to pull over. They will pick it up tomorrow. *Side roads are being picked up as scheduled*
