Review week is here! This month, our focus letters have been A, M, and S, and today we brought our Focus Wall right to the table.

We reviewed the sounds for each letter, talked about the words and animals on our board, and brainstormed even more words that begin with A, M, and S. Then everyone got their own coloring-page version of our Focus Wall to revisit everything we’ve been learning.

A simple activity, but a great way to strengthen letter recognition, beginning sounds, vocabulary, and recall while giving the kids a chance to make the learning their own. ❤️

A is for Anteater. M is for Moose. S is for Sloth.

Explore with curiosity. 🐾

Today the kids took a closer look at animals by matching figures and picture cards to real photographs. They compared colors, markings, shapes, and other details to figure out each match.

This kind of hands-on Explore activity builds observation, vocabulary, visual discrimination, and classification skills—all through play and discovery.

A simple alphabet activity with a lot of learning packed into it.

Today the kids worked on finding and matching uppercase and lowercase letters, strengthening letter recognition, visual discrimination, and alphabet order along the way.

Hands-on practice like this gives them another way to interact with letters beyond paper and pencil—and helps those letter names and shapes become more automatic.

Sometimes the simplest projects do some of the biggest learning. 💛

This little S is for Sloth activity gave our learners practice with:

* scissor skills
* following directions
* fine motor control
* gluing with purpose
* hand-eye coordination
* and reinforcing the letter S

What may look like a simple craft is actually meaningful hands-on learning, building important early skills one small step at a time. 🦥✂️

Sometimes the best learning happens when we give children the chance to stretch a little beyond what’s expected.

This math page is above their typical age level, but at Kinder Time Academy, I love giving our learners opportunities to think, problem-solve, and challenge their minds—with support when they need it.

They don’t have to know every answer right away. The goal is to build confidence, curiosity, and the willingness to try something new.

Challenge their minds. Build their confidence. Celebrate the effort.

During Creative Studio and Teacher Table time, children rotated through hands-on focus letter activities designed to build fine motor skills, letter recognition, and independence. While they worked, I was able to pull 1–3 children at a time to the Teacher Table for individualized instruction and extra support where they needed it most. This is just one small part of our day, but it’s one of my favorite times because every child gets the opportunity to learn at their own level.
