Saturday, June 6, 2026 - Flood Watch

Heads up Aubrey - The National Weather Service has included us in a Flood Watch until 4:00pm Sunday.

Periodic episodes of heavy rain is possible the rest of today and into Sunday. Watch low lying areas for ponding water.

A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of North Texas due to the potential for several rounds of additional heavy rain this afternoon through Sunday. While most locations will see rainfall amounts of 1" to 2", a few isolated areas may see upwards of 6" to 8" of rain. While the flooding threat is lower outside of the watch area, it is still non-zero across portions of Central and East Texas. As such, please keep an eye on the weather this weekend especially if you have any outdoor plans.

Hey Aubrey โ€” itโ€™s National CPR & AED Awareness Week! โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

This year marks the 19th year of this national campaign focused on promoting lifesaving skills that can help increase survival rates during cardiac arrest emergencies. We encourage everyone to learn CPR and how to use an AED. These simple but critical skills can make a lifesaving difference before first responders arrive. โšก

Take the time to get trained, stay prepared, and help make our community safer for everyone.

This past Thursday, we celebrated a major milestone in our High School Fire Academy program as our current Firefighter I (FF1) recruits successfully completed their first year and prepare to advance to Firefighter II (FF2) next year.

We also had the privilege of welcoming our incoming FF1 class during orientation as they begin their journey in the program. Weโ€™re proud of all our recruits and excited to see the next generation of firefighters continue to grow and succeed.

Itโ€™s National EMS Week๐Ÿš‘, and we are proud to recognize and celebrate the dedicated EMS professionals who serve our communities every day.

Yesterday, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center โ€“ Frisco at PGA hosted a National EMS Partnerships Luncheon, where our very own Aubrey Fire Department Captain Cliff Brooks was honored as the EMS Partner of the Year! This recognition is a true testament to the leadership, commitment, and hard work Captain Brooks has poured into our department over the past several years, and we are proud to celebrate his achievement.

Thank you to our EMS personnel and all EMS professionals for the care, compassion, and lifesaving service you provide each and every day. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™

The train has been cleared to operate and have moved out from our downtown area. Elm St. and Plum St. have been reopened.

๐Ÿ””Public Information - May 19, 2026 @ 5:45PM๐Ÿ””

Hey Aubrey,

A train traveling through downtown Aubrey is currently experiencing a mechanical issue and was forced to utilize its braking system. There was no crash, and there is no danger to the public. Crews are currently on site working to restore access to South Main Street.

However, Please AVOID Elm St. and Plum St., as these roads will remain temporarily closed until the issue is resolved. At this time, train operations personnel have not provided an estimated timeframe for reopening.

We will provide updates as soon as the situation is resolved and roadways reopen. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

The Aubrey Fire Department has officially launched its Whole Blood Program, TODAY, May 18,2026, proudly becoming the FIRST ground EMS provider in Denton County to carry and administer whole blood in the field. This lifesaving advancement allows our paramedics to provide blood transfusions directly on scene โ€” delivering critical care to patients when every second counts.๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿฉธ

To better serve our community, the department will carry two units of whole blood: one assigned to Battalion 523 and one assigned to EMS 521. This setup allows for quick response coverage across both the east and west sides of our service area, helping ensure blood can arrive on scene within minutes, regardless of weather conditions.

All Aubrey Fire Department paramedics have been specially trained to administer pre-transfusion medications and perform blood transfusions in the field. This advancement in emergency medical care reflects our departmentโ€™s continued commitment to evolving with the medical needs of our community and surrounding areas.

We would also like to thank our incredible partners, the Aubrey City Council, our medical direction from BEST EMS, and Baylor PGA hospital, our blood supplier, for their support, training, and dedication in helping us accomplish this long-term goal.

Itโ€™s especially meaningful that this rollout comes during National EMS Week โ€” a time dedicated to recognizing the lifesaving work EMS professionals provide every day. โค๏ธ

On May 11th, the Aubrey Fire Department welcomed some special visitors to Station 3! ๐Ÿš’โœจ The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas had the opportunity to tour the station, explore several apparatuses โ€” including the aerial ladder truck and one of our medic units โ€” and learn more about the equipment our firefighters use every day.

Our firefighters showed the Girl Scouts whatโ€™s carried on each apparatus, let them try on bunker gear, and even demonstrated how the hose operates from the aerial ladder truck! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

The group also got a real-life glimpse into emergency response when a call came into the station. The girls watched the crew quickly gear up and respond with lights and sirens ๐Ÿšจ as they headed out to serve the community.

Additionally, the Aubrey Fire Department B Crew at Station 3 would like to thank the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas for their generous dinner donation
