COMMUNITY ADVISORY | APPLE SNAILS

As many residents have already heard, invasive Apple Snails have been spotted in the area. The Savannah HOA wanted to share the attached advisory as an additional visual reminder for residence, particularly those who regularly use the walking paths.

For the time being, please avoid the affected section of the walkway, and be especially mindful of children and pets. Please do not touch, pick up, crush, or move the snails or their distinctive bright pink egg clusters.

Elm Ridge has been notified and is currently working on a solution.

We appreciate everyone taking a little extra care and helping keep our residents and pets safe while the area is being addressed.

We have been made aware of the possible presence of apple snails in the green belt waterways in Savannah, particularly near the Magnolia walking tunnel. These are believed to be invasive and can transfer parasites through human touch, so please avoid contact or attempting removal. We are in touch with Texas Parks & Wildlife to determine appropriate actions. If you spot these in more locations please submit a ticket at our Report a Problem link. Thank you!
