Tomorrow is 🐶🐾❤️ and we would like to introduce you to our newest additions to the Cayuga Counseling Services family, our therapy dogs in training Deebo & Blue!

We are so excited to share this update with our community and even more excited to introduce our new fur family! More updates will be shared as we get closer to launching this new service!

We will still show up.

Our staff will still answer the call, sit beside survivors in hospital rooms and courtrooms, help families find safety, and be there when someone in our community needs us. There is no question about that.

But our willingness to keep showing up should not be mistaken for proof that funding cuts don’t have consequences. A $289,000 reduction means fewer staff and fewer resources at a time when the need has not slowed down.

Today, The Citizen shared more about what this loss means for Cayuga Counseling Services and the people we serve. We are also sharing a message from our Executive Director about what these decisions look like from inside our doors—and why the people doing this work, and the people depending on it, deserve a voice in the decisions that affect them.

We will keep showing up. We just cannot keep asking the same people to carry more and more with less.

Last month, you all did in amazing job at our Kids Club: Community Skating Party! We had a blast and we hope you did too. You asked and we listened; this month we added double the fun!

Whether you’re a beginner, an expert or coming out of retirement, our sharing party welcomes you! Please join us all again tonight @4:30pm-6:00pm at Fingerlakes Mall.

Register online at cayugacounseling.org! Parent supervision required at off-site events. All dinner and materials included. All ages welcome. Skates provided (limited; first come, first served).

This event is free and open to the public. At Cayuga Counseling Services, you do not have to be a client to take advantage of the range of groups we offer to the community.

It is so we are breaking the stigma and setting the facts straight 💚. Here at Cayuga Counseling Services, your mental health matters to us; we listen and we support without judgment.

Everyone needs support and we are here to provide it to anyone in our community on their mental health journey. Check out our Open Access Hours and learn how the process works.

We offer therapy, family therapy, peer support, psychiatry and groups. We also provide a range of supportive options including family/new parent services with our Healthy Families of Cayuga County team, justice-involved re-entry services, care management services and victim services through our SAVAR program.

At Cayuga Counseling, you do not have to be a client to take advantage of the range of groups we offer to the community. Our August group schedule is available in the comments below.
