Auburn Parks & Recreation offers year-round recreational and educational programs for people of all ages—all with the goal of getting people active, engaged and invested in our community. Additionally, our beautiful parks—sprinkled throughout the city—provide a place for family and friends to gather. Any profit we make on programs is automatically reinvested in our parks for maintenance, repairs and new equipment and programming.

🏡🎨 DIY Welcome Mats — September 16th!

We’re excited to host DIY Welcome Mats on September 16th, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 PM at the Eckhart Park Program Center (1500 S. Cedar St.). Participation is $12 per project, and all materials are provided.

This hands‑on painting activity lets you design a custom welcome mat using stencils, patterns, and colors that match your personal style. Every brushstroke adds personality, and you’ll head home with a warm, creative mat ready to greet guests at your door.

Just bring your creativity and enjoy a peaceful evening of painting — we can’t wait to see you there! 💛

Residents who do not currently use Auburn Parks and Recreation services regularly, including new residents and historically underrepresented community members - You Do Not Have to Be a Current Park or Program User to Participate!

Auburn Parks and Recreation wants input from the entire community including residents who do not currently visit parks, use recreation facilities, or participate in programs.

Your feedback can help the city better understand:

- What May Prevent residents from participating
- Which improvements could make parks and programs more welcoming
- What new services or opportunities would encourage greater use
- How Auburn can improve access, communication, and community connections
