Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we reflect on the true meaning of this day and honor the heroes who gave everything for our country.

From the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, we extend our deepest gratitude and remembrance to all who served and sacrificed.🇺🇸

Strong communities are built through strong partnerships.

STRIVE (Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner Violence) is a powerful initiative that promotes a coordinated community response rooted in survivor-centered, trauma-informed and culturally competent practices to assist victims and survivors of domestic violence and create accountability for abusive partners.

We are proud to work alongside Cayuga Counseling Services, the Auburn Police Department, Cayuga County Sheriff, Cayuga County Probation and the Cayuga County District Attorney to improve access to resources and support safer outcomes for those impacted by intimate partner violence.

Yesterday, the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office was proud to participate in the Tim Durant recovery walk in support of individuals and families impacted by addiction and mental health challenges.

Our office remains committed to supporting specialty drug and behavioral health courts, which provide accountability, treatment, and opportunities for long-term recovery while improving public safety and strengthening our community.

Recovery is possible, and collaboration between the courts, treatment providers, law enforcement, and community advocates continues to make a meaningful difference here in Cayuga County.

🚨 CALL TO ACTION 🚨

New Yorkers deserve laws that address all forms of impaired driving.

We are urging legislative leaders to bring the Deadly Driving Bill (S6485C / A3981C) to a vote this session. The legislation would strengthen New York’s ability to hold drug-impaired drivers accountable, regardless of whether the substance involved appears on a specific statutory list.

The bill has more than 100 co-sponsors and would pass if allowed to reach the floor for a vote. Currently, legislative leaders are blocking the bill from consideration on the floor.

We strongly encourage members of the public to contact the following offices and ask that the Deadly Driving Bill be brought to a vote this session:

Governor Kathy Hochul
518-474-8390 | 212-681-4580

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie
518-455-3791 | 718-654-6539

Senate President Andrea Stewart-Cousins
518-455-2715 | 914-423-4031

Sen. Jeremy Cooney
Chair, Senate Transportation Committee
518-455-2909 | 585-225-3650

Sen. Rachel May
48th Senate District (representing Cayuga County)
315-478-8745 | 518-455-2838

📞 Demand that legislative leaders prioritize the safety of our roads.

Happy Mother’s Day from the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office

Today we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, and all the women who provide love, guidance, strength, and support to their families and our community every day.

To those hoping to become mothers, those facing loss, and those carrying quiet struggles today — we see you, and we are thinking of you as well.

We extend our gratitude to the mothers serving in law enforcement, emergency services, public service, and throughout our community who continue to balance service and family with unwavering commitment.

Wishing all mothers across Cayuga County a day filled with love, appreciation, and time with those who matter most. Happy Mother’s Day!
