SHINING ON THE DIAMOND🎉🥎⚾️: Congratulations to Auburn High School’s Lily Brewer, Bryson Sheppard, and Ryan Donaldson on earning recognition for their impressive 2026 seasons!

⭐ Lily Brewer earned 2026 ASWA First-Team All-State honors after a dominant junior season. The Ohio State commit struck out 201 batters in 155 innings, posted a 1.40 ERA, recorded six saves, and helped lead the Tigers from start to finish this season. After earning Second-Team honors in 2025, Lily elevated her game and climbed to the First Team this year!

Bryson Sheppard and Ryan Donaldson were recently identified as post-season standouts for Auburn High Baseball.

🔑Sheppard was clutch in the Tigers’ run to the Class 7A State Championship Series. The senior hit .345 in the postseason with 11 RBIs and two home runs. His performance against Daphne included three hits, six RBIs, and a grand slam, helping power the Tigers through the playoffs.

🔥 Ryan Donaldson delivered from the mound when Auburn needed him most. The standout reliever made six postseason appearances, allowing only two earned runs in 6⅓ innings. His impact was especially felt in Auburn’s hard-fought second-round series against Enterprise, where he pitched in all three games.

Congratulations on these well-deserved recognitions and for representing Auburn High School to the fullest!💯

CHAMPIONSHIP FOUNDATION, NEXT MATCH AHEAD🏆⚽️: The Auburn City Schools Board of Education has approved Ben McQueen and Shelby Wall as the new head coaches of the Auburn High School boys and girls soccer programs, respectively.

The appointments come following the retirement of longtime head coach Bill Ferguson, who recently led both the Auburn High School boys and girls soccer teams to the 2026 AHSAA Class 7A State Championships. The historic achievement marked the first time in school history that both programs captured state titles under the same head coach. Ferguson is stepping away from coaching to focus on his psychology practice.✅

“We are excited to welcome Shelby Wall and Ben McQueen as our new head soccer coaches,” said Auburn City Schools Athletic Director James Slaton. “Both Shelby and Ben understand what it means to compete and succeed at a high level, having been outstanding players themselves. They have also played an important role in helping build a championship culture as assistant coaches for our state champion Auburn Tigers soccer programs. Their passion for student-athletes, commitment to excellence, and deep connection to Auburn make them the perfect leaders for our girls and boys soccer programs. We look forward to the continued success and growth of Auburn soccer under their leadership.”

Both McQueen and Wall joined the Auburn High School soccer program in 2021 and have been integral members of the coaching staff during one of the most successful periods in program history.📈

McQueen began his Auburn coaching career as head coach of the JV boys team before being elevated to varsity boys assistant coach in 2024. A former standout player at Oak Mountain High School, McQueen helped lead the Eagles to a state championship in 2017. He has played a key role in the development of the Auburn program and helped guide the Tigers to the 2026 Class 7A State Championship.🥇

Wall brings an accomplished playing and coaching background to her new role. A former Auburn High School standout under legendary coach Chris Blight, she helped lead the Tigers to Class 7A state runner-up finishes in 2015 and 2016 while capturing area championships in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Wall earned First Team All-State honors in both 2015 and 2016 and was named the AHSAA Class 7A State Player of the Year as a senior. She continued her soccer career at the University of North Alabama, where she played as a forward and midfielder.🔥

With championship experience, deep Auburn roots, and a commitment to excellence, McQueen and Wall will now lead the next chapter of Auburn High School soccer as they build upon the foundation established by Coach Ferguson and continue the tradition of excellence that has made Auburn one of the premier soccer programs in Alabama.🎉
