Spurwink is proud to offer a special viewing and panel discussion of Building Hope: Ending Homelessness in Maine, alongside the City of Auburn.

Directed by Richard Kane and produced by Melody Lewis-Kane, the film shines a compassionate light on the realities of Maine’s homelessness crisis. Through deeply personal stories, Building Hope explores the challenges faced by unhoused individuals and families, while highlighting the hope that emerges when communities come together to create solutions.

Wednesday, June 3 is our first ever SUMMER COMMUNITY CARE CLINIC! In addition to breakfast, lunch, showers, clothes and all the other great things our guests can access every Wednesday, we've invited some extra special providers to offer foot care, ear care, heart/lung checks, vision screenings, plus info and goodies to protect your skin and the rest of your body! Everyone is welcome! (The Drop-In Center is open from 9am-1pm, but providers will start heading out at 12 noon, so get there early!)

We would be so grateful to receive donations of the following items to give to guests:
- sunscreen
- bug spray
- anti-itch cream
- foot powder or spray
- toenail clippers
- socks
- reading glasses (new or used, any prescription)
- reusable shopping bags

Donations can be dropped off on Wednesdays or Saturdays from 9am-1pm at 121 Mill Street in Auburn (come down the left side of the building to the glass door at the top of the ramp). Message us if you have any questions - and thank you in advance!

We were so honored to receive The Harward Center Award for Outstanding Partnership at Bates College last night! We love all of the Bates students who volunteer with us - whether as part of their coursework or because they're wonderful humans who care about the people in our community (or both!).

And congrats to a few of our "Batesies" who also received awards last night: Natalie (Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellowship Award), Molly (Award for Outstanding Academic Community Engagement), as well as Caitlin and the entire Women's Lacrosse Team (Award for Outstanding Community Engagement by a Club/Team).
