We are bee-yond thankful to Ella Carlson from Troop 7018 who planted a pollinator garden behind the Environmental Education building as a part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. In addition she came and spent a morning with the preschool students talking about pollination and working with the kids to make rocks to decorate the garden. Ella has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and a Forest Friend since she was a preschooler. We are so thankful for her gift to the KPNC and to our pollinator friends!

Thanks to everyone who came to our S’more Fun under the Stars event this weekend. We had a beautiful time in the evening woods enjoying food, a fire, and celebrating family and friends! Big thanks to the Auburn Civitan Club for the delicious grilling, to Cindy Miller for telling a beautiful story, and to the City of Auburn for partnering with us on this event. Also a special thanks to our volunteers and staff who made the night so special.

The KPNC is looking for a Grounds & Facilities Maintenance Assistant to help care for our trails, buildings, and natural spaces. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys practical work, variety, working outside, and making a visible difference!

The person in this position will need to work regular hours - 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. The pay is $12 / hr. We are looking for someone with experience in general maintenance and landscaping, is good with people, and is not afraid of hard work! Occasional weekend work is required.
