Nucor Steel Auburn is joining others in our community to help fight hunger this holiday season. In addition to donating turkeys to the Salvation Army, we are hosting a Turkey Dinner Meal Box Giveaway for families in need.

We are donating 100 complete meal boxes to help make Thanksgiving a little brighter.

There is a water main break on the corner of Turnpike Road and State Street. This will affect many residents in the Town of Throop. The Cayuga County Sewer and Water authority has been notified and is in the process of repairing the break. Questions or concerns should be directed to the Cayuga County Sewer and Water authority.

Cayuga County water and sewer dept is reporting a water main break on State street. Town of Throop residents may experience little to no water. We will try and keep you updated as the County updates us.

There is a water main break on the corner of Turnpike Rd and State Street. Cayuga County Water and Sewer authority are currently working on the restoration.

On 02/25/25 I was notified by several residents that there are several people going door to door soliciting different forms of energy asking to see NYSEG bills. Luckily one of our residents took a picture of this person’s ID and reported it to me. I was able to speak to one of the managers of this company and explained we have a no solicitation local law and they are not allowed to solicit door to door in the Town of Throop. If they come to your house they DO NOT HAVE A PERMIT TO SOLICIT.
