The district encompasses a 62-mile area bridging King and Pierce counties, and serves approximately 96,000 residents in Auburn, Algona, Pacific, Lake Tapps and unincorporated areas of King County. ing our 18,000 students with an education that, in a culture of equity and excellence, we engage, educate and empower each student for success beyond graduation. Auburn School District has three comprehensive high schools (grades 9-12), one alternative school (grades 6-12), four middle schools (grades 6-8), and 16 elementary schools (grades K-5). We house early learning programs at our elementary schools and offer life skills for students ages 18-21 in a Transition Assistance Program. The District reserves the right to remove inappropriate comments posted on social media it has created or owns and remove comments that are not relevant to the topic of the specific forum. This includes user- generated content that has obscene language or sexual content, threatens or defames any person or organization, violates the legal ownership interest of another party, supports or opposes political candidates or ballot propositions, promotes illegal activity, promotes commercial services or products, or is not topically related to the particular posting, or contains contents that promote, foster, or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.

Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) is excited to announce Flor Rivera Lopez, the Human Resources Employment Services and Recruiting Specialist for Auburn School District, as the 2026 Regional Classified School Employee of the Year!

Flor supports the recruitment and hiring processes across the district, creating positive experiences for others while helping people feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged. As a first-generation college student completing her bachelor's degree in business management, she is proud to represent the resilience of immigrant families and the importance of representation, perseverance, and community. She is committed to making candidates feel comfortable during what can often be an intimidating process, leading with kindness, empathy, and authenticity.

"I am truly humbled and grateful to be selected as the PSESD Regional Classified School Employee of the Year," Rivera said. "It means so much to be recognized for work that I genuinely care deeply about. "

In the inaugural year of the DAISY Award, the ASD’s first DAISY Award recipient is Dyan Lauer, registered nurse at Rainier.

This award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes to say thank you to nurses everywhere. Dyan's skills saved a student's life and her kindness and compassion helped the student and family navigate the situation.
