Heads up, Auburn! The FIFA World Cup is coming to Seattle this summer, and while the matches are not happening here in Auburn, regional traffic may still be affected on game days.

Seattle will host six matches at Seattle Stadium/Lumen Field:

Monday, June 15 at noon: Belgium vs. Egypt
Friday, June 19 at noon: United States vs. Australia
Wednesday, June 24 at noon: Qatar vs. TBD
Friday, June 26 at 8 p.m.: Egypt vs. Iran
Wednesday, July 1 at 1 p.m.: Round of 32
Monday, July 6 at 5 p.m.: Round of 16

If you’re heading north, traveling through Seattle, using transit, or planning airport/downtown trips on these dates, give yourself extra time and check traffic before you go. The biggest local impacts are expected around Seattle, but major events can create ripple effects across the region -- especially during commute windows!

Plan ahead, travel safely and keep an eye on real-time traffic and transit updates before you head out.

Do you live or drive through the pink highlighted area? This post is for you!

King County is replacing the underground sewer line and will temporarily divert sewage through an above-ground pipe. Some areas will see detours since pipes may block traffic and sidewalks. Driveways will not be affected.

Construction will take place during daytime hours starting next week. The project will be completed by the end of 2026, and affected roads, sidewalks, and driveways are expected to be repaired by end of June 2027.
