🍩 Happy National Donut Day from Auburn PD. 🍩

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who dropped off donuts for our officers today.

To ensure officer safety, Sgt. Davis personally tested every donut for freshness, quality, and potential hazards.

Unfortunately, he misunderstood the assignment.

The attached photos were taken approximately 17 minutes apart.

We are currently investigating whether this was an abuse of authority, a violation of department policy, or simply what happens when copious amounts of donuts are left unattended.

At this time, we believe approximately 4 dozen donuts were consumed.

No further updates are expected.

Happy National Donut Day!

Today is the one day a year when police officers can enjoy a donut without hearing at least one donut joke...

Just kidding. We heard them all before briefing.

Whether you're on patrol, at work, or just looking for an excuse to treat yourself, grab a donut and celebrate responsibly.

And remember: We don't stop for donuts... unless the hot light is on.

🔥 HOT CARS CAN KILL — DON'T TAKE THE RISK! 🐾☀️

It only takes a few minutes for temperatures inside a parked vehicle to reach deadly levels, even with the windows cracked. Never leave your pet unattended in a vehicle—not even for a quick errand.

🚨 If you see a pet locked inside a hot vehicle and in distress, call 911 immediately. Your quick action could save a life.

Know the signs of heat-related illness:
🐶 Excessive panting
💧 Heavy drooling
😟 Weakness or lethargy
🤢 Vomiting
⚠️ Collapse or unresponsiveness

If your pet shows any of these symptoms, move them to a cool, shaded area, provide fresh water, and seek veterinary care as soon as possible.

This summer, make the commitment:
✅ If your pet can't go inside with you, leave them safely at home.
✅ Ensure they have access to shade, fresh water, and a cool environment.
✅ Check on outdoor pets frequently during hot weather.

Together, we can help keep our four-legged family members safe, healthy, and happy all summer long. Share this post to spread the word!

Chief Morrison and Bolo recently had the opportunity to visit a local preschool and share information about law enforcement and the important role K-9s play in serving the community.

During the presentation, Chief Morrison and Bolo introduced the students to Bolo and explained his special role as Auburn PD’s Emotional Support K-9. The children had the chance to learn about public safety, ask questions, and meet one of Auburn PD’s favorite four-legged team members.

As a special surprise, the preschool presented Chief Morrison with a handmade thank-you poster filled with colorful drawings and creativity. We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and thoughtful gift.

Thank you to the students and staff for inviting us to spend time with you. Bolo had a paws-itively great time!

🔥 HOT PAVEMENT ALERT! 🐾☀️

Before heading out for a walk, remember this simple test: If you can’t comfortably hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws.

Hot sidewalks and asphalt can cause painful burns in just minutes. To keep your furry friends safe:

✅ Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours
✅ Choose grassy or shaded routes when possible
✅ Bring water for both you and your pet
✅ Watch for signs of overheating

A little planning goes a long way in keeping your four-legged family members safe, healthy, and happy this summer!
