A friend’s recent question regarding the history of organized baseball in Auburn lead to this discovery today. John Farrell was a key player in the early years of professional baseball in our city and his obituary from 1945 outlines many of his contributions, including his enshrinement in Cooperstown, to Auburn’s proud history with our national pastime.
