The Placer County Sheriff's Office ranked 13th in the U.S. for National Night Out participation in 2015, it was recently announced. The only jurisdictions in California with higher ratings were LAPD and L.A. County Sheriff's Office.

National Night Out is held the first Tuesday of August each year, and allows Neighborhood Watch neighborhoods to interact with the public safety officials who protect them throughout the year. It brings neighbors together, who can better keep their neighborhoods safe when they work together.

Last August, PCSO attended 20 parties, from Auburn to Granite Bay to West Roseville to Sheridan. Celebrations were also held at our North Lake Tahoe Station. PCSO dispatchers, records staff, Community Services, SET and K9 team members, Explorers, chaplains, CHP, AMR, and fire depts all joined in the fun. Congratulations to our Community Services Unit and all of our Neighborhood Watch groups for planning and hosting such great parties!
