💜 Today is International Day of Charity! 💜

At CARE Humane Society, we believe charity is about more than giving money—it’s about giving time, compassion, second chances, and a voice to those who need it most. 🐾

Every day, animals come through our doors hoping for someone to see their worth. And every day, our community has the power to change their story.

Today, you can make a difference by:

🐶 DONATING — Your support helps provide food, medical care, enrichment, and everything our animals need while they wait for homes.

🏡 FOSTERING — Open your home and give an animal the chance to decompress, grow, and experience the love of a family.

❤️ ADOPTING — Give a shelter pet the forever home they’ve been waiting for.

📲 SHARING — You never know when one share will reach the person who has been looking for their perfect match.

And if you can’t do any of those today, simply tell someone about CARE and the work we do. Spreading our mission helps more animals find the people they need.

Sweet Petra is looking for a foster or forever home. 💜🌸

This beautiful girl is confused, scared, and trying to understand how she ended up here. She was surrendered through no fault of her own, and she’s still trying to process this big change.

At just 1 year old, Petra has so much life ahead of her. A foster home could give her the safe, quiet space she needs to decompress, build her confidence, and learn that being a dog can be fun. And a forever home? That could give this sweet girl the stability and unconditional love she’s looking for.

Petra is around 50 lbs with a petite frame. She’s already spayed and heartworm negative, and all she needs now is someone willing to give her a chance.

Through our partnership with Pets for the Elderly, CARE Humane Society is helping more seniors experience the love and companionship of a shelter pet. Individuals age 60+ can receive up to $50 off their adoption fee when adopting an eligible pet from CARE.

Participating is easy! We’ll simply verify your age and take a photo of you with your newly adopted companion. Stop by the shelter, let our team know you’re interested in Pets for the Elderly, and we’ll help you from there.

One adoption can create two beautiful new beginnings—a loving companion for a senior and a forever home for a pet in need. 🐶🐱💙

Today we celebrated 6 adoptions, including one of our lonely hearts club pups, and had 3 intakes (2 owner surrenders and 1 stray). Huge congrats to Chrysa, Toadette, Water, Theo, Maven, and Booker.

Best of all, a portion of every ticket sold will directly support local cats in need through CARE Humane Society. 💙🐾

Say bonjour to Paris! 🥐💗

Paris is ready to pack her bags and find her forever home! 🧳🐾

This gorgeous girl is SO friendly with people and absolutely loves getting attention from her favorite humans. And if you happen to offer her a belly rub? Well, prepare for the dramatic flop! 😂💕 Paris knows exactly how to make herself comfortable and will happily roll over for some much-deserved affection.

Paris is still learning how to be socialize appropriately with other dogs, so she’ll need a patient adopter who is willing to help her continue working on those skills. She’s looking for a home where she can be the center of attention and soak up all the love for herself. ❤️

We know her person is out there. She deserves someone who will see past her challenges, appreciate her sweet and silly personality, and give her the time and guidance she needs to thrive.
