To all of our EMR's, EMTs, Paramedics, and first responders— thank you for your sacrifice, long hours, and unwavering dedication to helping others.

Tonight our members had the opportunity to train on roof ventilation utilizing the IFSI roof prop with instruction provided by IFSI instructors. Training like this is critical to improving firefighter safety and increasing our effectiveness on the fireground.

Proper roof ventilation plays a major role in controlling the spread of fire, improving interior conditions, increasing visibility, and creating a safer environment for both patient rescue and firefighters operating inside the structure.

We also appreciated the opportunity to train alongside our mutual aid partners from Chatham Fire Department and Virden Fire Protection District. Working together during training helps strengthen the teamwork and coordination that are essential during real world incidents.

A big thank you to the instructors from IFSI and everyone who participated in another valuable night of training. 🚒🤝💪🏻

The hearts of our volunteers extend far beyond the walls of the firehouse. Firefighter/EMT Ben Royer spent some of his free time reading to local 2nd graders at the Auburn Grade School.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Chief Joe Powell for his dedicated service as Chief and over 50 years of commitment to Auburn. Although Chief Powell has stepped down from his leadership role, he will continue to serve the district. We offer our warmest congratulations to John Edie on his appointment as Chief by the Auburn trustees and are confident he will lead the district with excellence.
