Another construction milestone!

We're making progress, and this one, you'll be able to feel underfoot! While the crew works their magic (removing the old carpet and laying the new), our Fiction Room will be temporarily closed.

We hope everything will be wrapped up by the end of Friday, May 29. Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve your library experience.

We can't wait for you to see and step on the results!

Take a stroll around Hoopes Park (100 S. Herman Ave) and Owasco Playground (6 Bristol Ave) and read a story at the same time!

New books installed late-May through August. Major funding for the summer reading program comes from the Bernard Carl and Shirley Rosen Library Fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.

🎉What. A. Celebration. Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday to mark 150 years of Seymour Library!

👏A huge round of applause for the talented AJHS Chamber Group, who brought our storied history to life through music, and to the Friends of Seymour Library, who outdid themselves with a birthday cake worthy of the occasion. We were also so pleased to welcome Mayor Jimmy Giannettino and City Councilor Craig Diego to the festivities! 🎂

It is a profound honor to walk in the footsteps of past Auburnians and to witness this library grow alongside its community. We like to think James Seymour would have been over the moon to see what his legacy has become, not only a beloved institution, but a living, breathing community resource dedicated to lifelong learning and serving everyone who walks through our doors.

📣A big thank you to the wonderful volunteers from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County’s Master Gardener Program for sharing your knowledge and love of gardening at last week’s Container Gardening Workshop and Compost Demonstration.

🌱We received a lot of great tips on how to start new gardening projects and make already established gardens thrive. And thank you to our audience- a community of gardeners- for all the great questions and for sharing your experiences.
