Adult Program Tennis in the Parks

Saturdays: Sept. 19th - Oct. 24th

This program is for players who want to practice, improve their game and have FUN! The program is run by a coach
who is SafeSport-approved and background-checked. Coach will provide instruction and also pair players up for match play.

Please bring a tennis racquet. If you need a racquet, the coach will have a few loaners available to borrow during
class. Ages 18+

On August 28th, 2026 there will be paving on South St between 136 South St and the railroad tracks at Cedar St.
This portion of work is expected to be completed on August 28th. We appreciate everyone's patience and ask residents to please plan accordingly. Expect delays and detours on your commute through these areas.

Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project personnel will be in your community to respond to residents’ concerns about mosquitoes in their area on the following dates in September: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th

All dates are subject to change due to weather conditions, mosquito populations, mosquito virus activity and/or special event spraying. This program will shut down when cool night time temperatures become predominant in the area. a detailed notice about the spray schedule is posted on the CMMCP phone system after 3:30 PM each day and it is also on: http://www.cmmcp.org, click the “2026 Spray Schedule” button on the right.

Requests for service may be recorded by calling the CMMCP office at: 508-393-3055 between 7AM and 3:30 PM Monday - Friday, or logging on to http://www.cmmcp.org

Monday August 31

Railroad Work
Railroad work is scheduled to start on the railroad crossing at the intersection between Auburn St, Central St, Millbury St, and Pakachoag Street. The railroad crossing will be closed. Traffic will only be able to travel to/from Auburn St/Central St and to/from Millbury St/Pakachoag St, but will not be able to pass through railroad section. Please see sketch showing the traffic pattern and closure. Please follow detour signage.

Road Work
Road work is scheduled to start on the following roadways. Roads will be open to local traffic only.
South St ( #136 South St to Cedar St)
Warren Rd through Bryn Mawr Ave (to I-90 Bridge)

Tuesday September 1

Railroad Work
The railroad crossing will be closed. Please follow detour signage. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday.

Road Work
Work is scheduled for the following roadways. Roads will be open to local traffic only.
South St ( #136 to Cedar St)
South St ( #351 South to Barnes St)
Old Millbury Rd (South St to Oxford Town Line)
Lancaster St (Church St to Garden St)

Other Work
Work is scheduled to start on the lower Lemansky Park parking lot and the basketball courts. The parking lot will be closed during the hours of construction. Please use the Horgan Skating Arena parking lot located at 403 Oxford St N between the hours of 7am and 3pm.

The Town has been notified by the Providence & Worcester Railroad that they are scheduled to work on the railroad crossing at the intersection between Auburn St, Central St, Millbury St, and Pakachoag St from Monday, August 31 through Tuesday, September 1.

Led by a USTA-approved coach, this program focuses on developing skills to serve, rally and play. We focus on FUN and learning the basics using age-appropriate rackets and tennis balls to help players learn and play more quickly.
