At the same time, back in our own district, Cars 2 and 3, Engines 2 and 3 and Squad 1, along with mutual aid from Poplar Ridge, handled multiple calls for trees/wires down in roadways. All hazards were cleared and roads reopened. Great work all around by our volunteers.

INCIDENT | Structure Fire

Tonight at 21:06 hrs., Fleming RP-1, while providing standby coverage in Weedsport for their field days, was dispatched mutual aid to Port Byron for a structure fire. Initial dispatch reported live power lines down on a garage.

RP-1 arrived and established a water supply from a nearby hydrant. The crew then worked in coordination with Port Byron to extinguish and overhaul any fire once the power was secured by NYSEG. All units were clear of the scene just prior to 2300 hrs.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

DUE TO THE INCLEMENT WEATHER THE MEMORIAL DAY MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED AT 9:30 am AT ST. MARY’s CHURCH, not at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

This is the most important part of Memorial Day as we pray for our heroes and their families.

We are blessed to have Bishop Matano and Father Lioi lead us un this celebration.
