Did you know that pets accidentally start roughly 500 home fires every single year? 🔥🐾

Today is National Pet Fire Safety Day, and while we love our curious four-legged troublemakers, it’s our job to keep them—and our homes—safe. A few simple adjustments can make a massive difference if an emergency ever happens.

Here is your quick Pet Fire Safety checklist for today:

Extinguish open flames: Never leave candles burning unattended around wagging tails or agile climbers.

Remove stove k***s: If you have a dog that stands up to investigate the counters, remove the k***s or use safety covers. Stove-bumping is the number one way pets start fires.

Secure loose wires: Keep cords tucked away to prevent teething puppies or bored cats from chewing through live electrical lines.

Get a rescue window decal: Place a pet alert sticker on your front door or window. Note the number of dogs, cats, or other animals inside so firefighters know exactly who they are looking for.
