Rest Easy Brother

Billy Poole was a man who wore many hats, and he wore them all with honor. Throughout his life and career, he faced challenges head-on—serving bravely across law enforcement, the fire service, and acting as a fierce advocate for his community. To those of us on the other end of the radio, Billy wasn't just a unit number on a screen. He was a trusted protector on the scene, a dedicated public servant, and above all, a wonderful friend. No matter how tough the shift, knowing Billy was out there brought a sense of comfort to us all.Our thoughts, love, and deepest prayers go out to his family, friends, and everyone in the first responder community who is grieving this immense loss. Billy you will be deeply missed.

Main Street from Amanda Gordon to Rector will be closed starting at 740 pm for the duration of the Mardi Gra Parade, the Pet and the kids parade. Do not drive around the barricades once they are placed, people will be walking in the roadway during the kid and pet parades. Do NOT take it upon yourself to move the barricades after the parades have finished, city staff will get the roadway opened back up in a safe timely manner. Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the event.

Don’t let the pics fool you, main roads look better, but are still slick. Here’s Main Street, College, 68/80 and Wrenwood. Most of the side roads at this time are still covered in snow.

Road crews are out, but Mother Nature is still giving us her best shot. Roads are slick, stay home unless it’s an emergency and if you must get out, drive slowly. 4 wheel drives will go on ice and snow, but it’s the stopping you have to worry about. Be safe.

Please stay inside unless you have be out, roads are already covered. If you must get out, please drive with caution.
