Wow! What a wonderful way to wrap up this year's Timeout Tuesdays hosted by Parks & Recreation!

Today's Fire Hose Day at the Auburndale Fire Station was the perfect finale to an incredible summer. Families enjoyed slip and slides, fire trucks, a foam pit, and free snow cones. Our firefighters joined in on the excitement by spraying hoses, interacting with families, and creating unforgettable memories for everyone who attended. Special thank you to our wonderful Timeout Tuesdays sponsor 1st Class Roofing, Inc.

Thank you to everyone who made this year's Timeout Tuesdays such a success. We look forward to seeing you again next summer!

Happy Fourth of July!

Our firefighters are working hard to ensure everyone is safe today. However, we need your help by following these crucial safety tips:

>Leave Fireworks to the Professionals
The safest way to celebrate is by attending a professional fireworks display. Consumer fireworks can cause serious burns, eye injuries, and fires in just seconds.

>Keep Water Nearby
If fireworks are legal in your area and you choose to use them, always keep a bucket of water or a garden hose within reach in case of an accidental fire or to fully extinguish used fireworks.

>Never Relight a "Dud" Firework
If a firework fails to ignite, do not try to relight it. Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it thoroughly in water before disposing of it.

>Grill Safely
Keep grills at least 10 feet away from homes, decks, and anything that can catch fire. Never leave a hot grill unattended, and keep children and pets a safe distance away.

>Protect Children from Sparklers
Sparklers may seem harmless, but they can burn at temperatures of up to 2,000°F, which is hot enough to melt metal. Instead, consider safer alternatives like glow sticks or LED light wands for young children.

We hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday!
