Take action TODAY to be better prepared for when the worst happens. Understand your risk from hurricanes, and begin preparations now. Make sure you understand how to interpret forecasts and alerts, and know what to do before, during, and after a storm. Even if you feel ready, there may be additional things you could do or learn. Hurricane season began June 1.

When seconds matter, it is important to be aware of emergency vehicles. Emergency vehicles navigate busy intersections to respond when our community needs them most. If you see flashing lights or hear sirens, slow down, stay alert, and provide enough space to allow the vehicle to rush to the emergency scene. 🚨

The Auburndale Fire Department is proud to announce the delivery of our newest fire Engine, a Pierce Enforcer!

After many months of planning, design, and production, our crews officially took delivery of the new apparatus last week. While it will not officially enter frontline service for a few more months, firefighters will now begin the important process of equipment mounting, inspections, driver/operator training, and final preparations to ensure the truck is fully mission ready. Core features of the truck are its 1500gpm pump, with an on board 750-gal tank, all powered by a Cummins L9 Engine. It will also carry over 2,000’ of attack and supply lines.

Prior to responding to its first emergency call, the department plans to hold a traditional push back and dedication ceremony to formally place it into service for the Auburndale community.

We are excited for the future of this apparatus and thankful for the continued support of our citizens and city leadership. Give us a wave if you see us on the road!

Our firefighters arrived on scene to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and quickly extinguished the fire without incident. The units on scene were Battalion 421, Brush 421 and Ladder 421. Pictured here are Firefighter Luis Sepulveda and Firefighter Shoquan Brooks. Luckily, firefighters discovered there was no one in the vehicle.
