Pretty cool! According to the Center for Effective Lawmaking, I was the Republican "Rookie of the Year" in the 131st Legislature. In addition, I was ranked the 2nd most effective Republican in the House of Representatives!

A sad day in Augusta. Despite receiving bipartisan majority votes in both the House and Senate, the legislature adjourned without sending LD 127 to the governor.

To be clear, Democratic leadership thwarted the clear will of both bodies by killing this bill through procedural motions to stall for time, ultimately forcing adjournment rather than allowing the bill to move forward. Shameful.

LD 127 is effectively dead. The Maine Senate votes to go home instead of finishing its work.

LD 127 Update: The bill continues to receive bi-partisan support in the House and Senate. So much so, a handful of Democrats voted with Republicans NOT to adjourn so we could pass LD 127. But now the Speaker has put us on break until 8:00 p.m. tonight!

They know they don't have the votes, so they are trying to win by attrition. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. NO MORE GAMES.

Give Speaker Ryan Fecteau's office a call @ 207-287-1300, and tell him to bring us back into session, do the People's business, and pass LD 127 to protect Maine children.
