This Malinois mix is giving golden retriever energy in the best way possible.

Elvis spent the day out exploring and was an absolute gentleman from start to finish. Even though he’s a big guy, he was incredibly gentle on the leash, well behaved in the car, and loved soaking up attention from everyone he met. He had a blast checking everything out and while treats weren’t really his thing, he definitely couldn’t resist a pup cup. ❤️

Elvis is such a sweet soul and truly deserves a loving home. Whoever gets to call this handsome boy theirs is going to be very lucky.

Elvis is ready to meet his new family!

Have you been on the hunt for a sweet and gentle companion that’s also on the smaller side? If so, we are pleased to introduce you to JETHRO! This adorable boy is a 2 year old Parson (Jack) Russell Terrier and weighs 25ish pounds.

JETHRO is good on leash, gentle taking treats, enjoys a toy or two to play with, and is very happy to just be hanging out with his people. When you first meet him he may appear a bit nervous or shy, but he will warm up quickly and he does enjoy affection once he is comfortable with you. He is a little apprehensive about fast movement, but when you go at his pace he is more relaxed and happy to receive nice pets. He is a well mannered pup who would love a person/family to occasionally throw a toy for him, take him on a nice, easy stroll where he can get his sniffs in and then just hang around the house with his family. JETHRO gets along with other dogs and the shelter can cat test for an on-site adopter if needed. We think he will be fine with children who understand how to be gentle and respect his space. He is up to date on shots, neutered, microchipped and Heartworm tested (-). If you would like to meet JETHRO, you can visit him at Augusta Animal Services, 4164 Mack Lane, Augusta GA during adoption hours Mondays 12-7, Tuesday-Saturday 12-4. JETHRO is really looking forward to meeting his new family soon!!

Say hello to Kai!
Kai is a one year old mixed breed with a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime. He came to the shelter thanks to a Good Samaritan, and ever since arriving, he’s been full of energy and ready for fun.
During kennel cleanings, Kai would spend time in one of our play yards with Naomi (who was recently adopted!), and the two would play nonstop. Kai absolutely loves chasing toys, although bringing them back is still a work in progress!
This goofy, slightly clumsy boy is always looking for someone to play with, whether it’s another dog or his future favorite human. Because of his high energy level, we’re unsure how he would do with cats, as he may accidentally play a little too rough.
Kai’s adoption fee is $65. He is neutered, vaccinated for rabies, has received his first round of vaccines, and tested negative for heartworms here at the shelter.
If you’re looking for a fun loving, playful companion who will keep you smiling, Kai might just be your perfect match!

This is Cara, she is a year and half spayed female pit mix. Cara made her way back to the shelter as a stray after being adopted out about a year ago. When previous owners were contacted, they informed us that they wanted to surrender her. We were able to reevaluate and put her back up for adoption after she received her rabies vaccine. Cara has a happy range between wanting to go out on a long hike, and being content to relax with you on the couch.

We realized during her evaluation that half of one of her ears is missing, it appears to be a newer wound that is healing well but is still sensitive. As such we do not recommend she go to a home with a small child.

Cara is up to date on all of her vaccines, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative.

Come visit us Tuesday to Saturday 12-4 and Mondays 12-7 to meet Cara and our other adoptable animals!
