πŸ§‘πŸ–€ Bond Update πŸ–€πŸ§‘

Just because school is out for the summer doesn't mean our buildings are quiet! Construction crews are hard at work as Phase 1 bond projects continue moving inside our schools, while Phase 2 projects are now underway across the district.

At Augusta Schools USD 402 - Augusta High School, crews have begun excavation work for the new safe and secure entrance and the addition of fine arts classrooms.

At Augusta Schools USD 402 - Ewalt Elementary, work has started on the new parking lot and the multi-purpose band room.

These projects are exciting steps forward as we continue investing in safe, modern, and innovative learning spaces for our students, staff, and community. We look forward to sharing more updates as progress continues throughout the summer!

πŸ“šπŸ§‘πŸ–€ Published Authors at Augusta Middle School! πŸ–€πŸ§‘πŸ“š

Before school let out for the summer, Augusta Schools USD 402 - Augusta Middle School 7th graders celebrated the launch of their published book, Where We Call Home: A Collection of Small Town Stories.

Under the guidance of Dr. Melissa Reed, students wrote original stories inspired by the idea that Augusta is more than just a place on a map. Their stories highlight the people, places, history, and community that make Augusta special.

A special shoutout to 7th grade artists Sehara Jones, Palmer Ogden, and Jackson Finlay for contributing artwork for the book cover!

Congratulations to all of our student authors and artists on this incredible accomplishment and thank you to Dr. Reed for helping bring this project to life. πŸ“–βœ¨

Tomorrow marks the final day of elementary school for our 5th graders! πŸ§‘πŸ–€

Earlier this month, 5th grade students from each elementary school had the chance to visit Augusta Schools USD 402 - Augusta Middle School and get a preview of life as a Bluejay! During their visit, they learned about the Four Traits of a Bluejay, toured the building, asked great questions, and even won some fun prizes by showing off what they learned! πŸ’™πŸ¦

While moving to middle school may feel like a big step, AMS is ready for them! That’s why the first day of school on August 12th will be just for 6th graders. This gives teachers and staff extra time to help students learn locker combinations, navigate lunch lines, find classrooms, and settle into their new routines. By the end of the first week or two, we know these students will be middle school pros in no time! 😎

We are so proud of this group and cannot wait to see all they accomplish as future Bluejays! πŸ’™

🎨 Congratulations to Augusta Schools USD 402 - Augusta High School sophomore Taylor Osborn! πŸ§‘πŸ–€

For the past few years, representatives from White Eagle Credit Union have attended the Band-O-Rama art display and selected one artwork to be featured in their office for an entire year. This year, they selected Taylor’s incredible graphite drawing depicting her hand holding a sunflower! 🌻

Taylor is a student in Mrs. Shelite’s Intro to Art class, and her artwork stood out among the many talented pieces on display. In addition to having her artwork showcased at White Eagle Credit Union, Taylor also received a cash prize for her outstanding work.

Congratulations, Taylor, on this amazing recognition! πŸ‘

As they move forward into college, careers, military service, and new adventures, they will always have a home here in Augusta USD 402.
