A dog owner called to report their dog, Rita, got out and appeared to be picked up by a passerby near the Woodland Gas Station on State Road 27. This happened around 10:15am this morning. Rita is microchipped, but if you were the passerby or know who they were, just reach out to the Augusta PD and we’ll help facilitate getting Rita back to her owner.

Congratulations to Officer Laxson who graduated from CVTC’s Law Enforcement Academy yesterday! He’s already been working with field training officers for the last six weeks and was previously doing internship work within Augusta PD. Officer Laxson has already proved himself to be a valuable team member and we’re excited he chose to stay here in Augusta!

❗️Winter Parking❗️

Reminder of Augusta’s winter parking ordinances.

For the streets not listed in subsection (2), there is no parking allowed.

For a few select streets which are listed in subsection (2), there is alternate side parking. That would mean for anyone parking their vehicle tonight, you would park on the EVEN SIDE of the road’s house numbers because the ordinance is enforced at 2:30AM.

Public Works anticipates snow removal operations tomorrow. Officers issued over 50 warnings overnight. Any vehicles in violation of the ordinance tomorrow will be ticketed.

✝️✝️Welcome, Chaplain Sean Heuer! 🚔🚔

Today we had the honor of officially swearing in Chaplain Sean Heuer to the Augusta Police Department. A graduate of the University of Valley Forge with a focus on pastoral ministry, Sean also pursued continuing education credits in counseling to increase his ability to minister to those he meets. In that vein, Sean has served as a minister for the last 20 years, serving here in Augusta, WI, since 2023.

Chaplain Sean will be serving alongside our officers to provide emotional, spiritual and community support to both our department and the citizens we serve.

Sgt. Devroy and Chaplain Sean have been working on this for the last few months and we’re grateful for the partnership and dedication to caring for those who protect our city.

We’ve had several calls to the police department today about the DMV contacting citizens by text message in reference to supposed unpaid tickets. The DMV will not contact you in this way to satisfy unpaid dues. Disregard these text messages.
