Mother turns grief into scholarship for music students
Leslie Lesoon (PhD '91, PA '15), founder of the nonprofit organization Natalie's Light, recently established the Natalie Lauren Wood Scholarship Endowment at Augusta University. This endowment will provide an annual scholarship to students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music through Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, with a preference given to those who have an interest in music therapy. Lesoon's mission is to raise awareness of su***de prevention after her 17-year-old daughter, Natalie, took her life. Natalie loved music and planned to pursue music therapy at AU.
