The Greater Augusta Employer Committee is made up of a group of local business representatives who have established and maintained a working relationship with the Georgia Department of Labor's Career Center and the employer community. The partnership involves:
• Acting as a sounding board for proposed and ongoing Department of Labor policies, procedures and programs
• Identifying and recommendi
ng ways to meet community employment related needs'
• Furthering community awareness of the Department of Labor Career Center
• Serving as mentors to and resources for other local employers
• Hosting or co-sponsoring seminars on a myriad of employment related issues"

The Georgia Department of Labor is primarily funded by employer tax dollars to provide efficient labor exchange services and to operate employment services and the unemployment insurance system.
