Jaguar Army ROTC Battalion at Augusta University

10.7.2026- From an early morning challenge to an afternoon of connection, the Jaguar Battalion was proud to welcome our 6th Brigade leadership this past Wednesday! 🐆

We kicked off the morning with Command Sergeant Major Harmon, who joined our cadets for the “Round Robin of Death” PT challenge! With different stations and physical challenges, our cadets pushed themselves, encouraged their teammates, and showed their determination. We were also joined by Augusta University’s weight training coach, Dr. Kohler!

Following our PT session, our very own Colonel Billingsley and Command Sergeant Major Harmon joined us for a tour of Augusta University’s Summerville campus. Our cadets had the opportunity to showcase the university we call home before sitting down with our brigade leadership for lunch and conversation.

The visit concluded with a cadet forum, giving our future officers an opportunity to ask questions, hear advice, and learn directly from experienced Army leaders. Thank you so much Colonel Billingsley and Command Sergeant Major Harmon for taking the time to train with us, get to know our cadets, and support their development as future leaders!

Jaguar Battalion Cadets Celebrate Constitution Day

Several of our Augusta University Army ROTC cadets recently joined students, faculty, staff, and members of the community for Augusta University’s annual Constitution Day celebration.

Our cadets had the opportunity to participate in the reading of the United States Constitution, taking their place alongside members of the AU community in recognizing the document that provides the foundation for our nation’s government.

For future Army officers, understanding the Constitution carries special significance. The oath they will one day take is an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, making opportunities like this an important reminder of the responsibility that comes with serving and leading.

We are proud to see our Jaguar Battalion cadets engaged on campus and participating in events that connect leadership, service, and civic responsibility.

What’s one of the most important parts of a mission? PLANNING! That’s where OPORDs come in.

This week, the Jaguar Battalion focused on the “how to” of developing, briefing and most importantly UNDERSTANDING Operations Orders, learning how effective planning creates a shared understanding from the Platoon Leader all the way down to the grenadier. Cadets put those plans into action while also developing their tactical skills through LDA crossings.

A successful mission starts long before ex*****on. Learning how to analyze, plan, communicate, and lead ensures every cadet understands the mission and their role in accomplishing it.

WARRIOR SKILLS ROUND ROBIN LAB, JAGUAR STYLE! 🐆🇺🇸

The Jaguar Battalion hit Science Field for a Warrior Skills Round Robin, building the tactical foundation our Cadets will need to succeed at Cadet Summer Training (CST)!

From grenades, CBRN, radios, Claymores, Care Under Fire, and TCCC, our Jaguars got hands-on training while sharpening their confidence, teamwork, and tactical knowledge. Every lane is another opportunity to learn, lead, and prepare for the challenges ahead.

On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, our MSIII and Ranger Challenge Cadets hit the weight room with Augusta University’s Dr. Kohler, Professor of Weight Training, for a strength-focused PT session!

Today marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Jaguar Battalion pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members and families whose lives were forever shaped by the events that followed.

For our cadets, September 11 is also a reminder of the meaning behind service, leadership, and the commitment to something greater than ourselves.

We also remember Major Stephen V. Long, an Augusta State University graduate and Army ROTC alumnus who was killed in the attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. His legacy of service and sacrifice holds a special place in the history of our program and our university.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Jaguar Battalion Gives Back | Move-In 2026

Our cadets are not the only Jaguars who know how to put in the work.

During multiple Augusta University move-in days, Jaguar Battalion cadre and Mr. Kenneth Bradley rolled up their sleeves and helped welcome students and families to campus—moving belongings, supporting operations, and doing their part to make the start of the semester a little easier.

This year, Augusta University welcomed more than 12,600 students, including approximately 1,600 students living on campus. More than 450 volunteers supported move-in operations from Aug. 12–14, with the Department of Military Science among the campus groups answering the call.

Leadership is not just something we teach our cadets. It is something our cadre and staff demonstrate through service, teamwork, and showing up when our university community needs a hand.

Apparently, “other duties as assigned” sometimes means carrying boxes.

Thank you to our full cadre and Mr. Bradley for pulling their weight—literally—across multiple move-in days and helping welcome the newest members of Jaguar Nation.

What did you do this summer?

Our Jaguar Battalion cadets and alumni spent theirs doing some pretty incredible things.

From Hawaii to Washington State to Fort Knox, they trained with Army units, built leadership skills, and took part in experiences most people only hear about.

Did you blow anything up?
Did you fly in a Black Hawk?
Did you fire a tank?

Our cadets and alumni did.

Army ROTC is more than classes and PT. It is an opportunity to challenge yourself, travel, train with Soldiers, explore Army career fields, and prepare to lead as an officer.
