Kellogg Bird Sanctuary The Sanctuary is a unique wildlife center, offering both walkable trails and public education programs, and is open to visitors year round.

***If Gull Lake School District is closed due to inclement weather then the Sanctuary will also be closed.***
The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is located in Augusta, Michigan, 15 miles north of Kalamazoo and 12 miles NW of Battle Creek. Sanctuary visitors can walk a 3/4-mile paved trail (wheelchair accessible) to see:
-Hundreds of waterfowl in their natural habitat, including Trumpeter Swans, Canada

Geese and a variety of duck species
-Birds of prey enclosures feature both rare and common raptors, including a Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawks, Eastern Screech Owl and more
-The Leslie E. Tassel upland game bird display features grouse, pheasants, and quail - native to Michigan species and birds from around the world, some of which are rare, threatened or endangered
-Bird-friendly demonstration gardens situated towards the front of the sanctuary.

We have a special edition to our Esker Trail! For the month of June you can participate in Project Wellness Walk along our trails! Brought to us by Girl Scout Troop 80436, Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan.
