June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, a time to stand together to protect and support older adults in our communities. 💜

On June 15, we recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and raise awareness about the importance of dignity, respect, and safety for every elder.

If you suspect elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation, speak up. Together, we can build stronger support for elders and create safer communities for all.

You can report elder abuse to the Kansas Department for Children and Families by calling 1-800-922-5330. If the adult is at immediate risk contact local law enforcement or dial 911.

Every May since 1963, our nation has celebrated Older Americans Month—a time to honor the generations who built our communities and continue strengthening them every day.

At AmeriCorps, we’re proud to recognize the older adults whose service bridges generations, supports neighbors, and ensures no one is left behind.

Last year, more than 130,000 older Americans served as AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers, contributing over 29 million hours of reading with children, supporting older adults, strengthening nonprofits, and reducing poverty across the country.

Their wisdom, dedication, and compassion make our communities stronger. This month, and every month, we celebrate them.

We are very excited to be bringing this to El Dorado and our Bulter County community!

On April 29th at 7pm at our church(400 W. Central Ave in El Dorado), a presentation about Scam and Fraud will be presented by Gail Bright who is a retired Financial Services Regulator. This is a great opportunity for everyone of all ages to come and learn what to watch for and how to prevent falling prey to scams and fraud. These crimes are more and more common and getting more sophisticated everyday; let's all learn together how to watch out for ourselves and our loved ones!

Prior to the event there will be a Soup and Chili Supper from 5:30pm-6:45pm. Donations not required for either event but are accepted!

We hope you can join us! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment, message us, or call our office at 316-321-3790
