Citizens Firearm Safety Class – May 16, 2026

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is glad to announce our next Citizens Firearm Safety Class! This course is offered as part of our continued commitment to community education and responsible firearm ownership.

This course will provide important firearm safety instruction, safe handling practices, and practical guidance for responsible ownership.

Spaces are limited

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a Richmond County resident
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must successfully pass a criminal history background check

🗑️ **Regular Trash Service Resumes OCTOBER 7th 🗑️ We’re back to our regular trash collection schedule IF your street is passable. Make sure your bins are at the curb in the morning of your designated day. Thank you for your patience!

Delayed by the storm, Augusta resumes trash service but storm damage is making it hit and miss, with those waiting the longest saying they should have been the priority.

From the City of Augusta:

Augusta Environmental Services contractors will resume trash collection on
Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00am, if your street is accessible.

They will collect one day behind the normal schedule (i.e., they will collect Tuesday collections on Wednesday).

They will collect household waste in cans ONLY. They will NOT collect yard debris or bulky items at this time.

Please place carts in an accessible location at the curb. 🚮🗑️

Trash collection delayed due to road conditions. As you begin clearing tree debris, please place it curbside. The landfill hours: 5 AM to 4 PM and will accept up to 5 bags of household trash at no charge. Thank you for your cooperation!
