With the delivery of our new fire engine, the Augusta Volunteer Fire Department has decided to give our old structure truck a new home and new opportunity. We are selling our 1968 Dodge pumper truck through a sealed bid process. It was built by Superior Fire manufacturing in Helena, MT. The company no longer lives on, but the truck still lives to fight another fire. This would be a great addition to a farm, ranch, fire department or as a restoration project. Bad news, there is yet another delivery delay! Good news, our shiny new engine is Augusta bound with an ETA of 12 AM (if anyone's awake 😅)! Due to the new midnight arrival time, The Great Push-In will now take place {hopefully...yikes} tomorrow, Wednesday, July 9th at 6:00 PM!

The stories Bart could already tell us from his journey to Augusta, MT! Here he is, loaded up and ready to protect our wonderful community!

🎇Happy 4th of July from all of us here at the AVFD!!🎆

Doesn't that pig look amazing! I've heard from credible sources that it smelled fantastic during the fire meeting last night, too. A big thank you to our tireless cook and crew that kept it cooking all night long!

The BBQ starts at 5 and has been moved to the Fire Hall!!! Please feel free to bring your own chairs, we have a limited number of seats available but want to make sure everyone has a place to enjoy their time with each other. We are so looking forward to the desserts you all contribute and that apple pie contest, too!
Remember that the kiddos can get their last minute entry in for the new fire truck name tonight too, we'll be announcing the name after dinner!

And, we wouldn't be serving our community if we didn't remind you to be safe tonight. With as dry as it is out there, one little snafu could mean a world of problems. Also, let's all try to keep our extremities and digits firmly attached while lighting fireworks or just leave it to the Augusta Fireworks tonight after the BBQ.

Change of location:

We're still on!!! We're moving the location to the fire hall!
Come on down, its always a great time!

NOTICE: The 4th of July in Augusta community picnic is STILL ON, but is being relocated to the Augusta Fire Hall! Same time, same great time, new location! See you all tomorrow at the firehall at 5 P.M.

On the evening of July 2nd, Augusta Volunteer Fire Department responded to a lightning caused wildland fire burning in the grass west of Augusta and northwest of Nilan Reservoir. 2.5 acres were burned and the fire is contained. Crews will be monitoring the area over the next 24 hours to ensure the fire remains contained. Also be advised, due to the dry conditions, open burning has been closed in Lewis and Clark county.
