For those of you who don’t me, my name is Hailey Taker and I am the president of our JMG Career Association at UMA. I just wanted to hop on and remind everyone that even with everything going on in the world we can still do things to help those around us. Whether it’s donating blood like I did today, reaching out to friends and family members to check in on them, or any of the countless ways you can help others. They all add up and remind us that we aren’t alone even through the hard times. My challenge to everyone is to do at least one small act of kindness this week, and if you feel comfortable, you can share it in the comments and together we can help spread kindness and positivity 😊

Join us for UMA Volunteer Day on Monday, April 22nd to celebrate Earth Day with campus clean-up events! Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate and get a free t-shirt, lunch, the personal satisfaction of making your campus shine, and earn a Level 2 credit for CIGNA health insurance incentive (for employees only).

There will be clean-up events on BOTH campuses:
AUGUSTA – Those interested in volunteering should meet at the Randall Student Center Cafe/Patio for your clean-up assignment at 9:00am. A free community BBQ will begin at 11:30am.

BANGOR – Those interested in lending a hand on the Bangor campus should meet at Huskins Lounge in Eastport Hall for your clean-up assignment at 11:30am. A free community BBQ will be held at Belfast Hall at 1:30pm. A rain date for Bangor only will be Tuesday, 4/23.

Have you heard the buzz about UMA's inaugural International Cultural Appreciation Day?

UMA will be promoting diversity institutionally but also fostering an atmosphere where our community can exchange different ideas and perspectives in a positive and meaningful way.
We will be exploring various foods, music and dance performances, traditional clothing, culturally-significant household objects, icons, family heirlooms, literature, presentations, and much more!
