Join us for a solemn evening of remembrance as we honor the brave firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11 and our Colorado military who gave their lives as a result of that fateful day.

A piece of the North Tower, presented to the CFM by the Freedom Flag Foundation, will be on display. We’ll be joined by Aurora Fire Rescue, Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado National Guard and the Honor Bell Foundation.

A static photo display of the tragedy of 9/11; playing of bagpipes and tolling of the Honor Bell; a civilian flyover and more will make the event unforgettable. Bring your chairs, and your prayers, and join us on 9/10

Did you know that on February 2nd, 2016, The Colorado State Legislature passed House Joint Resolution 16-1006. It stated:

"Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Seventieth
General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein: (1) That the portion of East Sixth Avenue from the 1-225 interchange to the E-470 interchange shall be renamed the "Colorado Freedom Memorial Highway".

Senator Nancy Todd and Representative Su Ryden, both of Aurora, championed the resolution and 10-years later you still see signs along 6th Avenue.

Today I was reminded, once again, of the endless possibilities we have at the Colorado Freedom Memorial to honor and remember our fallen.

This morning we took ownership of a two and a half ton section of radio antenna that was atop World Trade Center Tower 2 on 9/11. It stood at the highest point of the antenna and will stand again, this time in front of the CFM Visitor and Education Center when it’s completed.

Since the attacks on 9/11, 118 Colorado veterans who were called to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan gave their lives, and are honored on the CFM’s glass panels. Together the Glass Panels and Antenna remind us to never forget the price of freedom.

Thank-you to the Mizel Institute for trusting us with this powerful symbol of 9/11. We are honored to have it. See less
