The City of Aurora, St. Louis County, and Ulland Brothers (contractor) have been hard at work on the CSAH 100 & City Street Improvement Project. The focus has been on Phase I, 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street near the Mesabi East campus. Most of the city utilities have been completed along with portions of the storm sewer system. Phase I is scheduled to be paved in September.

The original start date for Phase II, Main Street from 1st Ave to 4th Ave, has been delayed until Monday, August 17th due to storm sewer material availability. The project is still on track to complete full reconstruction of CSAH 100 from Pine Grove Park to the Community Center in 2026. The remaining local street & utility work along with CSAH 100, west of Pine Grove Park, will be completed in 2027. Please continue to utilize the posted detour and if you have any questions feel free to call the Project Hotline at 218-302-4328.

Due to ongoing roadway construction throughout the City of Aurora, the Aurora Splash Pad will be closed on Monday, August 6
10, 2026.

We understand this may be disappointing for families and visitors, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.

We will provide updates as soon as the Splash Pad is able to safely reopen.

🇺🇸 Patriotic Days Parade Route Update! 🇺🇸

We have some great news! While construction is still underway, we’re happy to share that it will not impact our July 3rd Patriotic Days Parade as we had initially anticipated.

🎉 Both the Kiddie Parade and Patriotic Parade will return to their traditional lineup location on 4th Avenue in front of the school—just like in years past. (The lineup will not begin by the Catholic Church as previously announced.)

🕓 Parade Lineup: Begins at 4:15 PM
🎆 Parade Starts: 5:30 PM

🚗 Car Show Participants: Please continue to use the detour route via 1st Street East from Central Avenue.

Please watch for and follow the posted Parade Route and Detour signs on event day.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we’ve adjusted plans alongside this season’s construction. We’re thrilled that this change allows us to bring the parade back to its familiar route and can’t wait to celebrate another wonderful Patriotic Days with all of you!

🚧 CSAH 100 and Local Street Improvement Detour Begins Wednesday, June 10th 🚧
As part of the ongoing reconstruction project, a detour will be in place starting Wednesday, June 10th. Traffic will be routed from Erie St. N to Central Ave for the duration of the project. An alternative truck detour will be available via Hwy 4.

🚧 Construction begins on Hwy 100 in Aurora this week. Beginning Wednesday, June 10, traffic will be detoured onto Erie Street and Central Avenue. Large trucks will be directed to detour on Highways 4, 111 and 100.
