Three Birds Alliance

Gateway is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization providing counseling, residential care and court advocacy services for victims of domestic violence in Colorado.

Three Birds Alliance (formerly Gateway Domestic Violence Services) provides pathways to healing and hope for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. On average, we receive more than 9,000 crisis calls, provide over 10,000 nights of residence care for families and their pets, and assist with more than 2,000 court advocacy cases for domestic violence victims each year. Gateway relies

on donations from individuals, foundations, businesses, families and the community. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency, funding from donations is essential for serving domestic violence victims and empowering people for social change. All donations are tax deductible.

We are honored to be named a 2026 YES Grant recipient by ENT Credit Union (becoming Wings Credit Union)! Our Development staff attended an awards ceremony on May 14 at Empower Field at Mile High to receive the award and to meet other worthy award recipients where Denver Broncos hall-of-famer Champ Bailey was the featured guest speaker.

ENT Credit Union sees young people as crucial to the present and future success of our communities and provides Youth Endowment Series (YES) Grants to nonprofit agencies that benefit youth in the communities we serve.

30% of the clients in Three Birds Alliance shelters are under age 18, and we are incredibly grateful to ENT for recognizing the work we do for youth impacted by domestic violence.

Three Birds Alliance is excited to announce the 2026 “Corks For A Cause” wine tasting and dinner event raising funds to support the women, men, children and pets who come through our doors each year seeking shelter and support.

This year’s event is set for Thursday, October 1st at Upper Larmer Events in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood.

Our event will include a wine tasting with an incredible array of wines from around the world thanks to our partnership with Heritage Wine and Liquor, a plated dinner, live music, and both silent and live auctions as well as some other fun activities.

Three Birds Alliance staff members participated in Colorado Denim Day 2026 yesterday in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. As we know, sexual assault and domestic violence intersect in many ways.

On the last Wednesday of every April, survivors, advocates, and supporters across the world wear denim to send a clear message: No matter what someone is wearing – tight jeans, a short skirt, or nothing at all – they don't deserve to be sexually assaulted.

On Saturday, Three Birds Alliance staff and volunteers set up at GGirls Closet LLC to collect clothing donations in support of the victims and survivors we serve. Over 20 individuals and families came buy to drop off donations totaling more than 500 pounds of clothing!

GGirls Closet will issue a store credit to Three Birds Alliance based on the amount of clothes donated so that victims and survivors can use the store credit to shop GGirls Closet to find exactly what they need! In addition, GGirls presented us with a check at the end of the drive for give back proceeds earned by our visitors shopping in store during the drive!

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with GGirls Closet and to our community for helping to make this drive a success.

Help the survivors in our programs by donating your gently used clothing!

Near the intersection of South Havana St. and Parker Rd.

• Come see us at GGirls Closet on April 25th to donate your gently-used clothing
• GGirls Closet will issue a store credit to Three Birds Alliance based on the amount of clothes donated
• Victims and Survivors can use the store credit to shop GGirls Closet to find exactly what they need!

Partnerships that help clothe our survivors are critical as many arrive at our shelter with only the clothing on their back.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and to encourage prevention efforts.

Exposure to domestic abuse is child abuse. Each year countless children witness domestic violence and are present in many domestic violence incidents to which police agencies respond.

Even if children do not suffer physical injury themselves, the emotional consequences of viewing or hearing violent acts are severe and long-lasting.

At three Birds Alliance, our shelters are available for parents with children and their pets who have experienced domestic violence. In fact, 30% of the people we serve are children.

Three Birds Alliance strives to make sure that children can move forward from their trauma and have a safe and stable environment to grow up in.
