Much of my yard was VERY squishy earlier this week! Now it's only a small portion. The front yard is dry though and we are setting up a tent for tomorrow's Tea Party!!

The April 29th storm that brought down my 100 ish year old Norway Spruce!! These are easily identifiable trees you see on old homesteads - must have been a popular trend in the early 1900s.

Very grateful (1) I wasn't home when it snapped (2) it didn't land on my house (3) no home damage!!

My anemometer clocked 52 mph wind at 4:42pm that day. I arrived home shortly thereafter - look at that ominous sky!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day weekend!! If you are enjoying social activities, and can take a few minutes to chat with people about this petition, our personal conversations within trusted networks are the best way to continue the momentum and showing our Love through ACTION!

Updates: I am invited to a meeting with the Cayuga Chiefs and Clan Mothers, and I am hoping for their official support / statement / endorsement of the petition!

I have a meeting with Senator Rachel May next week to discuss the vision in this petition and how important it is for New York to move forward in a direction of amendment and healing. I'll be bringing some books from my collection, on the Sullivan Campaign, specifically the 150th anniversary in 1929, which, when one looks at the literature today, feels very prejudice. We want to make different choices today, so that we look back and are proud for letting go of colonial frameworks that are harmful.

It is because I love history and was researching the history of my own property in the process of "making a museum" that I learned about this genocide. I didn't have to dig too deep. It's right there, in plain site, and yet we all just ignore it because it's more convenient to.

My efforts to create Howland Farm Museum are why I am so passionately supportive of Wells Land Back. I can not in good conscious be an educational space for history without taking action to amend the injustice that occurred in that history.

I, as a resident, also do not want the burden of having to exist as "the abuser" in this oppressive framework of colonization. Because that is not who I am. It is time to change the system.
