Families can enjoy free admission, rides and attractions throughout Blackberry Farm while caregivers connect with others. FVSRA Caregiver Network brings caregivers and families together through welcoming opportunities to connect, build relationships and enjoy time in the community.

🌟 Together for Tomorrow Spotlight: For 50 years, FVSRA has created opportunities for recreation, friendship, and belonging. Along the way, support from the Fox Valley Special Recreation Foundation has helped make even more of those opportunities possible.

This week: Summer Day Camp ☀️

Foundation support helps provide camp scholarships so financial circumstances don’t have to be a barrier to participation. FVSRF has also contributed more than $200,000 toward expanding Summer Day Camp staffing and enrollment, helping even more campers experience meaningful recreation, new adventures, and lasting friendships.

Investments like these are built through the collective support of our community. A small monthly gift can become part of something much bigger.

🍂 Mark your calendar for September 10! Fall Sensory-Friendly Night is coming to Blackberry Farm, and FVSRA will be there with our SootheSpace sensory tent!

SootheSpace provides a welcoming place to step away from the activity, take a break and reset before getting back to the fun. Stop by to explore sensory tools and resources, meet the FVSRA team or simply enjoy a quieter moment during the evening.

Admission is just $7 per person, with access to the train, carousel, wagon rides, adventure playground, museums and more!

🚢 Boat tours are better with friends! Last week, the Seaspar Eagles Program joined our FVSRA Daybreak Adult Day Program for a boat tour at Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles. We couldn’t have asked for better weather for a day on the water, enjoying the views and making some new friends along the way!

🌟 Together for Tomorrow Spotlight: Celebrating 50 years isn’t only about looking back. It’s also about investing in what comes next. Through Together for Tomorrow, monthly donors help the Fox Valley Special Recreation Foundation continue supporting opportunities that make an impact throughout FVSRA.

This week: Special Olympics Athletics 🏅

Foundation support helps provide athletic uniforms, equipment, and tournament travel for FVSRA Special Olympics athletes. These resources give athletes opportunities to compete with confidence, develop their skills, celebrate accomplishments, and proudly represent FVSRA.

🌊 We made a splash at Otter Cove! Yesterday, 215 people joined us for our Caregiver Network Family Swim last night, making it our largest Caregiver Network event yet!

We loved seeing so many familiar faces and welcoming new families to FVSRA for an evening of swimming, connecting, and summer fun. Thank you to St. Charles Park District for having us, and thank you to everyone who joined us.

Huge shoutout to Kenec for their incredible support of the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association! 💙✨

This summer, an amazing group of high school students stepped up as volunteer leaders to bridge connections between neurodiverse individuals and their peers. Together, they spent the season building lifelong friendships, learning valuable new skills, and proving what true inclusion looks like.

A special thank you to Aviya (who double-dips as one of our wonderful FVSRA staff members!) and Siyona for their dedicated leadership and passion in making this program such a success. 🌟

To top it all off, everyone came together today for a fantastic culminating celebration packed with activities, delicious food, great company, and exciting raffles… all while raising over $2,500 for FVSRA! 🎉

Thank you, Kenec, for empowering these inspiring young leaders and helping us build a stronger, more inclusive community. We couldn't have done it without you! 🙌
