What an incredible day! ❤️

Today, our community came together once again for another successful Diabetes Education Program, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Seeing so many individuals and families take time out of their busy lives to learn about preventing and managing diabetes reminds me that our community is committed to building a healthier future together.

The room was filled with energy, meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions, and a genuine desire to learn. Moments like these remind us that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to improve lives.

A very special and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Suzana Deng for sharing your expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication to educating our community. Your kindness, patience, and commitment to improving the health of others are truly appreciated. You are making a lasting difference, one person and one family at a time, and we are deeply thankful for your partnership.

To every participant who joined us today—thank you. By choosing to learn, you have taken an important step toward protecting your own health and the well-being of those you love. The knowledge you gained today doesn’t end when you leave the room. It will be shared around dinner tables, with spouses, children, parents, relatives, neighbors, and friends. That is how healthier communities are built—one conversation, one family, and one act of caring at a time.

I also want to express my sincere appreciation to our amazing CAFI Wellness Center team and volunteers. Your dedication, teamwork, and tireless efforts behind the scenes made today’s program a tremendous success. Thank you for always serving our community with compassion and excellence.

Together, we are proving that when a community comes together to learn, support one another, and invest in health, we all become stronger. This is more than a diabetes education class—it is a movement toward healthier families, healthier neighborhoods, and a brighter future for generations to come.

Knowledge is powerful. But knowledge shared is life-changing.

Thank you to everyone who made today so special. We look forward to continuing this journey together and seeing you at our future community health education programs. 💙

Happy 250th Independence Day, America! 🇺🇸
As I celebrate this special day, my heart is filled with gratitude. I came to this country about three decades ago as a refugee seeking safety and hope. Today, I am proud to call the United States my home and to be an American citizen.

America welcomed me, gave me opportunities to learn, grow, serve my community, and build a better future. I will always be grateful for the kindness, freedom, and possibilities this nation has given me.

To everyone who is still pursuing their dreams, never lose hope. With faith, hard work, and perseverance, amazing things are possible.

Wishing my family, friends, and all Americans a joyful and blessed 250th Independence Day. May God continue to bless the United States of America and all those who seek peace, freedom, and opportunity.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸❤️

The CAFI Sustainability Center is hosting an important three-part community education series focused on diabetes awareness, prevention, and management. This initiative reflects CAFI’s ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes and empowering individuals through accessible, practical knowledge.

The program will be led by Dr. Suzana Deng, whose expertise will guide participants through essential topics related to living with and preventing diabetes. Through interactive sessions, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how lifestyle, nutrition, and early intervention play a crucial role in managing this condition.

The sessions will take place on:

May 2
June 13
June 27

Each session will begin at 11:00 AM and will be held at the CAFI Center office in Aurora.

This three-session format allows participants to build knowledge over time, ask questions, and apply what they learn between meetings. Topics will include understanding diabetes risk factors, healthy eating strategies, blood sugar management, and sustainable lifestyle changes. Whether you are living with diabetes, supporting a loved one, or simply interested in prevention, this program offers valuable insights for everyone.

The partnership behind this initiative highlights a shared commitment to community well-being. By combining professional medical guidance with CAFI’s community-centered approach, the program aims to make health education both engaging and accessible.

Community members are strongly encouraged to attend all three sessions to gain the full benefit of the program. Your participation can be a meaningful step toward better health and a more informed community.

Please plan to attend and take part in this valuable educational opportunity.
