Getting around the playground should be part of the fun--not a barrier!

Our accessible surfacing, ramps and wide pathways create smooth routes throughout the playground for wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, and little feet alike. You'll also notice color changes in the surfacing around moving equipment, providing visual contrast to help people with visual impairments to more easily identify areas where movement may occur.

Because thoughtful details can make a big difference in inclusive play!💜❤🧡

🚻4 Days Until Everybody Plays!🚻

Inclusion doesn't stop at the playground equipment!

Our accessible restrooms include a spacious layout with adult-size, height-adjustable changing tables to better accommodate children, teens, and adults who need assistance with personal care. It also allows a parent or caregiver who uses a wheelchair to more easily care for their own child.

Because everybody deserves to be able to stay, play, and enjoy the day.💜❤🧡

🛝5 Days Until Everybody Plays!🛝

Today we're rolling into day 5 with our roller slide!

The rollers provide full body tactile and auditory input that aids in motor skill development. Built with a wider chute width, it allows parents or peers to ride alongside and assist children. Another important feature is that it's designed with non-static materials to prevent electrical interference or buzzing with cochlear implants and hearing aid devices.

Our Quiet Grove offers a calmer space to step away from the sights, sounds, and excitement of the playground--giving kids a place to pause, regulate, and recharge before jumping back into the fun.

Because inclusive play means having a space for every kind of play--even quiet play.💜❤🧡

🪜7 Days Until Everybody Plays!🪜

Throughout the playground, you'll find climbers with varying levels of difficulty, giving kids opportunities to choose a challenge that works for their abilities, build confidence, and try something new.

The purple step climber pictured here is designed with smaller, closely spaced steps which make climbing more accessible for young toddlers and for children of short stature, including some children with Down Syndrome and Dwarfism.

Sometimes inclusion is found in the BIG features...and sometimes it's in the little details that make a big difference.💜🧡❤️

👨‍🦽‍➡️8 Days Until Everybody Plays!🛝

Our playground is designed with multiple ways to access and enjoy the equipment.

For children who are able to transfer out of their mobility device, a transfer bench and grab bar provide support for moving onto the slide. Accessible decking that extends beyond this interactive sound panel allows children using wheelchairs to roll right up without having to turn sideways to play.

Because accessible play isn't just about getting TO the playground--it's about being able to be PART OF THE PLAY alongside their friends!💜❤️🧡

Today we're highlighting our communication board! Not everyone communicates with spoken words, and everyone deserves a way to connect, make choices, express needs, and join the fun. The communication board gives children another way to say things like "Let's play!" "My turn!" "Help," "More," and so much more-right where play is happening!
