The South Dearborn High School Class of 2026 earned nearly $3 million in total scholarships, saved over $491,000 in Ivy Tech dual credits, and 45 of those 146 graduates walked away with state and industry-recognized credentials from the Southeastern Career Center before they ever left the building!

Whether they're headed to college or straight into a career, this class left South Dearborn prepared. Congratulations again, Knights! 🎓

All season long, Dillsboro Elementary School's Run Club showed up; whatever the weather, and whatever the workout. They capped it off at the Flying Frog 5K during the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival. A huge thank you to their coaches, parents, and Dillsboro Family Market for supporting them every step of the way and for the end-of-season pizza party these runners earned!

Summer has just begun, but back to school season will be here before we know it. For all of our early planners, we have created one convenient document to help families get a head start on back-to-school shopping, registration information, and Open House/Meet the Teacher events. We hope this resource helps make preparing for the new school year a little easier and more organized for everyone.

Online registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open on July 20th. We would greatly appreciate all families completing registration by July 31st to help us prepare for a smooth start to the school year.

Please note that teacher assignments and student schedules will not be released until registration has been completed. Registration can be completed online, but families needing assistance may contact their school to schedule an appointment for support.

As part of the registration process, the State of Indiana requires proof of residency documentation. Submission of proof of residency is a required component of student registration.

The Dearborn County Home Builders Association recently donated $600 to South Dearborn High School to help purchase a new sander and miter saw for the construction classes. Recently, Jim Mansfield and Jay Knowles toured the construction classroom and learned more about the program and opportunities available to students.

In today’s world, skilled trades are more important than ever. Providing students with hands-on learning opportunities and access to quality tools helps prepare the next generation for successful careers in the workforce.

South Dearborn High School is incredibly grateful for the generosity and support from the Dearborn County Home Builders Association. We appreciate their investment in our students and our construction program. Both the association and the school are excited to continue conversations about future work-based learning opportunities and partnerships that will benefit students for years to come!

It is bittersweet to share that South Dearborn Middle School Principal Mr. David Ladner has accepted an assistant superintendent position in Florida and will be leaving South Dearborn.

During his time at SDMS, Mr. Ladner’s focus on building a positive climate and culture has made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to creating a supportive school environment have helped shape the SDMS community in meaningful ways. He will certainly be missed and will be difficult to replace.

We are grateful for all Mr. Ladner has contributed to South Dearborn and wish him continued success in this next chapter of his career.

The fifth graders at Dillsboro Elementary School didn't just participate in Field Day this year. They ran it. Stepping up as station leaders for their younger peers, they kept tug-of-war battles going, sponge relay races moving, and three-legged races laughing from start to finish. A huge shoutout to every fifth grader who showed up to lead — and made this one a day to remember. Can you spot your student in the photos?

Mrs. Bartholomew's kindergartners at Aurora Elementary School didn't end the school year at a desk. They ended it at a campfire!

The classroom became a campground for the week—complete with a fishing pond where students caught fish, measured them, and compared their catches using greater than and less than. Later, they fished for words instead. They told stories by the fire, investigated bugs, painted rocks, and made s'mores.

That's how you end kindergarten.
